Built for 40 Years Across Europe

For the first time in Bayer Leverkusen's history, the club has introduced a dedicated European competition shirt, giving the 2026-27 campaign its own visual identity. The design looks back across four decades of European football, drawing inspiration from different shirts worn during the club's international journey. Its diagonal stripes create a dynamic appearance across the black foundation, while the silver details reference the trophies and European achievements that have shaped Bayer 04's history.

The shirt also connects several landmark moments from Leverkusen's European story. The club's 1988 UEFA Cup triumph, the dramatic 2002 Champions League final against Real Madrid and the run to the 2024 Europa League final all form part of the history represented by the new design. The campaign slogan, “40 Years Across Europe. Still Creating History.”, looks simultaneously backward and forward as the Werkself begins another European journey.

The European identity was put into action immediately in the 2026-27 Europa League campaign, with Bayer Leverkusen wearing the new shirt in their opening home match against NK Celje on 16 September 2026. The Werkself won the match 2–0, with Facundo Medina scoring the second goal.
